Armed Forces Day Abroad

May 10, 2012 | Colonel Thomas Palmatier

The Soldiers of The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own" are in Oslo, Norway to represent America at the Norwegian International Military Tattoo.  Because we are here during Armed Forces Week, we're fortunate to be able to support the U.S. Embassy as they host all of the Defense Attaches from around the world.  The U.S. Army Brass Quintet arrived early to set up in the gardens behind the Ambassador's residence.

Before the guests arrived, Ambassador Barry White (he pointed out that he' not the singer Barry White) posed with the Army Musicians.

As the guests arrived, they were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by beautiful chamber music from SSG Marlisa Woods on violin and SSG Tim Whalen on piano.

Ambassador White greeted the large crowd of dignitaries and introduced the quintet.

Want to see some great video?  I'll post a link soon to MSG Les Owens' latest production or see it first at the "Pershing's Own" Facebook page or see it even sooner when it goes up on our Youtube channel.
